LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCIL DISTRICT 4
Los Angeles, CA – With growing number of candidates for the upcoming Los Angeles City Council Elections, another candidates has joined the field of candidates to replace the termed out council member in 2015. Expectations can be achieved through building the future of a growing diverse neighborhoods of Los Angeles Council District 4. Mr. J.P. John Perron has joined the candidate list for the upcoming Los Angeles City Council District 4 which will take place in 2015. The East Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president John Perron Jr. announced that he has filed the required documents and formed a committee to explore a campaign for Los Angeles City Council District 4. Perhaps best known to many within Hollywood's entertainment and music circles and the renewable energy industry as "J.P.", Perron is a community advocate and an entrepreneur focused on developing solar power and Smart Growth real estate development.
“When I was growing up, I asked my parents if we could move to Hollywood because I had some big dreams,” said Perron. “I am announcing my candidacy for City Council District 4 after having lived here and knowing that Los Angeles, including Hollywood, is the birthplace for the greatest of dreams. Hollywood is the strongest brand in the world. Three decades after arriving here and living out my own childhood dreams, I am proposing that the City of Los Angeles designate Hollywood as our "Uptown" - to provide a cornerstone for our dreams of revitalization and the strong economy we need."
“By focusing on jobs first and foremost, specifically base jobs that have a multiplier effect, it will actually bring additional jobs. We will attract the growing global tourism market even more. We will also make Los Angeles the home base for the next technological wave of intellectual property and e-commerce - the same way we created the movie studios. It is obvious that we need to improve our economy by keeping the jobs we have here now and creating more good jobs. Uptown Hollywood will help all of us."
“Los Angeles has a history of men and women of vision willing to create a better life for those who will soon follow,” said East Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sam Kabushyan. “J.P. has shown leadership, incredible passion and intellect meeting with community officials and leaders. He shows compassion with his genuine down to earth nature to our neighbors, colleagues and families. He is making changes for the better by focusing on jobs, community and our precious environment. "
Perron was instrumental in forging new ethical guidelines for the self reporting of fraud within the aerospace industry during the 1990's. He is a business consultant for inventors and non-profit organizations and is spearheading efforts to bring a solar panel factory to California. Perron co-authored white papers on solar power research & development and is a two-time recipient of the prestigious Boeing Technical Excellence Award. He is a strong advocate for expanding renewable energy in Greater Los Angeles with more rooftop solar power.
John has three children and is married to attorney Tamar Poladian Perron who has led a distinguished life of service since being hired as a Field Representative for L.A. City Councilman Mike Woo as the first Armenian Community Liaison when she was still a teenager. The Perron family lives in the Toluca Lake area located in the Fourth Council District where John has been a contributing columnist for local community newspapers and also been involved as an independent executive music producer.
The 4th Council District includes portions of Hollywood, Griffith Park and the communities of Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Miracle Mile, Hancock Park, Windsor Square, Larchmont, Koreatown to the south; Silver Lake and Los Feliz to the east, the Hollywood Hills through the center; Laurel Canyon to the west and Toluca Lake, Studio City, Mulholland Drive and North Hollywood.
